Difficult weekend for Forza Racing in the Winter Cup

In Race Reports by AG Media & Management

The 25th edition of the Winter Cup was bitter for the Forza Racing colors.

The team, which came from the podium obtained in the WSK Super Master Series of Adria, failed to maximize the potential shown in the pre-race tests, but despite this, it already looks with confidence to this next weekend’s appointment, the WSK Super Master Series round 2, always at South Garda Karting.

In OK, the best classified driver was Rafael Camara, who crossed the finish line in 15th position. After an encouraging Super Heat, where he finished 2nd, the Brazilian failed to repeat himself in the Final. Dilano van T’Hoff finished in 17th place with a recovery of 2 positions. Setting back his weekend were the two front fairing penalties in the first heat and in the Super Heat.

Gilles Stadsbader, instead, after the good run at the WSK Champions Cup, encountered not a few difficulties; these prevented him from going beyond the 25th position, despite the numerous efforts made over the weekend. Finally, an unfortunate Xizheng Huang did not qualify for the Final for only 7 “penalties”.

In OKJ, there were two Forza Racing drivers, that is Maxwell Dodds and the re-entering Maxime Furon-Castelain. Dodds closed the weekend in 20th position, a result which however does not do justice to the steps forward shown by the young Briton who also won his first international heat, as well as having recovered 10 positions in the Final.

Like Huang, Furon-Castelain also did not make the Final for 7 penalties; despite this, however, the driver from Luxembourg still put in a very solid weekend considering that he was returning to racing after the winter stop.

Jamie Croxford, Team Owner«It’s been a particularly tough weekend. After the potential expressed at Adria, I expected something different, but I know well that races are this, too. Not everything is written, quite the contrary. However, we will build on this experience for the forthcoming races.»

The team will be back on track this weekend for the second round of the WSK Super Master Series, also at the South Garda Karting in Lonato.
